Earlier this year I visited Sweden and experienced that lovely Swedish custom -- Fika. It’s more than simply a coffee break. When you Fika you literally take a break from work physically and mindfully. No shop talk, no carrying on the discussion from the meeting you just came from. Fika is all about making a personal connection, getting to know your co-workers as individuals beyond the role they fulfill at work.  We have already embraced some cool Swedish creations, from Swedish meatballs to Ikea furniture. Maybe we can embrace Fika just as enthusiastically. Imagine how warm and caring our workplaces could be!
